In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Inspired by Salim Ali, the Indian Ornithologist, Rajlaxmi Pingle a young girl started studying birds in their natural habitat when she was just five. She is a bird photographer too. Her interest in rare species led her to a design a campaign to spread awareness about birds getting extinct.

Tanmay Parikh is a class 12 student at Centre Point School, Nagpur, aspiring to become a chemical engineer. At 17 years of age, he is a determined environmentalist with plans to contribute positively towards the earth’s environment and to help save the planet we inhabit. He has researched deeply into the use of nanoparticles to make the carbon capture, utilisation and sequestration (CCUS) process more feasible and an innovative method which at lab scale showed encouraging results.
