In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Antoine Kanaan

Antoine R. Kannaan is a serial legal-tech entrepreneur and founder on a mission to Champion Justice adn empower human connection through technology. On the literary side, Antoine has contributed to The National News’ opinion column, a prestigious international daily paper in the ENglish Language catered to Gulf readers. His articles tend to tackle the stategic effects of cryptocurrency on international political affairs. Antoine believes in connecting people, and leaving an impact through innovation.

Charbel Abi Khalil

Charbel is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Beirut Political Review, the first student think tank in the Arab world, MENA region, and Global South as a whole. He aims to analyze complex, existential issues at a societal level and support in creating pathways toward resolution. He also founded the Union International - a community centered around the values of integrity, respect, and tolerance, where the most difficult issues of the day can be discussed in an environment that enshrines dialogue and acts as the marketplace for bold ideas. Both his initiatives aim to institutionalize an independent platform for consensus-building and the unmitigated pursuit of truth - whatever that truth may be. Before shifting his focus to history and politics in Lebanon, Charbel was a physics student on a scholarship at the University of Warwick, where he produced energy and environmental policy research at the Warwick Think Tank.

Ihab Tabbara

Ihab Tabbara, author, consultant, and coach holds an MBA from London Business School. With an entrepreneurial spirit, creative and forward-thinking growth mindset, Ihab has more than 25 years of experience specializing in Financial Strategy, Retail, Project Management, Business Development and Supply Chain Management within the MENA Region. Ihab is a motivational leader and expert in negotiation and building relationships with key stakeholders to gain advantage on value creation. Ihab is also an American University of Beirut Alumnus with a BBA degree. He has devoted his time and effort towards his professional pursuits, but at his core, he is a family man. Ihab is married and a proud father of his three children. He enjoys an active lifestyle, playing tennis and running.

Maya Hemdanieh

Maya Hemdanieh is a medical doctor and currently a research fellow with a passion in providing care and advocating for mental health. She devotes extensive efforts to promote awareness of public health concerns, with the ultimate goal of making a long-lasting impact. She has actively participated in the Lebanese Medical Students’ International Committee (LeMSIC) for over seven years, enabling her to engage in various events and implement valuable concepts. Her mission is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves to live a happy and healthy life. Moreover, she is committed to making this vision a reality through her medical expertise and advocacy efforts.
