Dr. Manuela Gutberlet has lived in the Middle East for more than 20 years. Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, she later explored the world, living and working across three different continents, with a primary focus on the Middle East. Her journey has taken her to Cairo, Rabat, Sharjah, and Muscat, where she spent 17 years working in tourism, journalism, higher education, and public relations at one of the region’s top universities, the German University of Technology in Oman.
She holds a PhD in Cultural Geography from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and currently serves as a Lecturer and Senior Researcher at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Her academic contributions include a recently published book, Over tourism and Cruise Tourism on the Arabian Peninsula, released by Routledge.

Born in the UK, Dr Terry Storer has spent the past 35 years teaching and leading international schools across five continents. Having initially obtained a joint honors degree in Ecology and Chemistry, Dr. Terry travelled widely in sub-Saharan Africa getting first-hand experience applying the skills learned in his undergraduate degree, particularly in Namibia where he worked on a project to map the home ranges of rhinoceros against their health and that of the vegetation that supported them. On returning to the UK, Dr Terry took his love of the sciences to the classroom and began his teaching career in London. The passion for exploring new cultures and value systems was always present and eventually led to him taking up his first international school teaching position in Caracas, Venezuela. From there, Dr Terry worked in Tanzania where he set up an international school in Dar es Salaam.

Nicolas Randall is an Adjunct Professor of Storytelling at IE University in Madrid. An MBA was obtained from Oxford University (2000), following a background in Anthropology and Psychology (BSc, Brunel University). Over five years, work was conducted in more than 20 countries, where political and business interviews were carried out at the highest level. In this capacity, meetings were held with Hillary Clinton, George Soros, and various presidents and prime ministers. A year was spent living in Syria, providing deep familiarity with the Middle East. Through these experiences, a strong understanding of effective storytelling—along with its pitfalls—was developed. This knowledge was later applied to the visual sphere through the creation of a publishing company specializing in photography, producing commissioned books for multinational corporations and governments. More recently, involvement in the startup space has included founding two startups and mentoring others in storytelling.
