Our event is part of the global TEDx community, which is dedicated to spreading ideas worth sharing. TEDx events are independently organized and aim to uncover new ideas and share them with the world. Our focus is on Education, Community Development, and Entrepreneurship, and we empower these pillars to cultivate courage, enhance quality of life, and promote self-reliance. Khem Raj Lakai

Advocate for experiential journey with degree in commerce and hospitality

Khem Lakai, hailing from Shailung Dolakha, holds a commerce degree from Tribhuwan University, complemented by a hospitality education acquired in Switzerland and Australia. With a specialization in experiential learning, Khem has impacted the lives of over 5,000 students from 23 different nationalities across the Kathmandu and Pokhara campuses since 2007. Serving as a board of trustee at PATA Foundation, Khem is also the esteemed Founder and CEO of the renowned Global Academy of Tourism & Hospitality Education (GATE College). Furthermore, he co-established GATE Polytechnic Academy and FAB School in Pokhara, which offers free education in collaboration with Rights4Children to empower vulnerable youth from various corners of Nepal. Khem Lakai proudly represents Nepal as an Ambassador for the World Innovation Forum and serves as a distinguished Board Member of EUHOFA International.

Rajip Bajracharya

Rajip Bajracharya is a traditional dance practitioner and teacher having gained his formal dance education from India. He has been teaching his craft in Nritya Mandap Dance Academy, Mahendra Police Club and Armed Police Force, Nepal. As a maestro in his craft, he has won gold medals in Kathak dance during his Senior and Junior years while on his Diploma course in India. Furthermore, he has also been honored with the prestigious, “Dancer of the Year” award by the Armed Police Force, Nepal. In his pursuit to preserve and promote our cultural and traditional assets, he has performed in the international stages of HongKong, India, Qatar, France, Singapore, China and many more.

Samundra Band

Formed in 2004, the Samundra Band celebrates and, safeguards the Gandharba Community's long tradition of performing Nepali folk music. Holding firm to typical folk instruments, the ensemble plays age-old Nepali tunes, recomposing many in new forms, so updating cherished old music for contemporary tastes.
